NSW Minister for Sport and Recreation Stuart Ayres said Sydney Olympic Park is hosting a diverse array of sporting, business, artistic, entertainment and cultural events, and with its 10 venues and 100 function spaces, is playing an instrumental role to ensure events previously held at Darling Harbour remain in NSW.
“Each year the Park hosts almost 6,000 events, large and small, each contributing to the prosperity of the State’s economy and providing the people of NSW access to the very best in entertainment,” Mr Ayres said.
Commencing with last Saturday’s Supernova Pop Culture Expo and finishing with Sunday’s Giants/Carlton AFL game, more than 250,000 people will attend a vast array of events across the length of Sydney Olympic Park. Some of the highlights include:
- Supernova Pop Culture Expo at Sydney Showground – 30,000 visitors
- All Stars Cheerleading Federation WinterFest at the Sports Centre – 2,000
- Canterbury Bulldogs vs Parramatta Eels at ANZ Stadium – 24,000
- Dance Fever at the Sports Centre – 1,400
