Priced at $99 per person, Under a Desert Moon offers guests a gourmet dinner with sparkling wine on arrival and canapés as the sun sets, followed by a four-course menu by firelight.
The menu will showcase a variety of modern Australian cuisine beginning with canapés such as braised crocodile bound in a honey mustard aioli or roasted asparagus spears wrapped in emu prosciutto.
This will be followed by an amuse bouche and a four-course menu, including pink salt and lemon myrtle crusted carpaccio of kangaroo, wagyu tenderloin or crispy skin Northern Territory barramundi followed by a deconstructed cheesecake.
The Under a Desert Moon experience will be hosted at the central fire pit at Kings Canyon Resort, offering an intimate setting with no more than six couples dining on any one night. This is the perfect way to relax after a day spent exploring Kings Canyon and Watarrka National Park.
Kings Canyon Resort Resident Manager, Jeff Dancer said: “Kings Canyon is a beautiful destination, however the magic really starts when the sun sets, lighting up the deep reds and ochres of the Canyon range. The silence and space out here is breathtaking, and this is our way of rewarding guests with a very intimate and romantic special evening to mark the end of a day in the Canyon.”
Under a Desert Moon operates four nights a week until 31st October.
The Outback BBQ & Grill at Kings Canyon Resort has also re-opened for the winter season.
The Outback BBQ & Grill is a true Australian outback experience offering contemporary Australian BBQ cuisine. Guests can revel in the friendly atmosphere, mixing with other guests under a solid roof with open sides - a traditional outback verandah.
This casual bar and grill also provides live entertainment on six nights a week during peak season (May to October).
