Brisbane Greeters are volunteers who host authentic sightseeing experiences for locals, travellers and conference delegates looking to explore Brisbane. Between them they are fluent in more than 20 languages.
Brisbane Marketing Convention Bureau Director Annabel Sullivan said delegates could use Brisbane Greeters to take in Brisbane through the eyes of a local and see first-hand what makes our city's heart beat.
“Brisbane Greeters are available to help conference delegates explore Brisbane and all the city has to offer,” she said.
“The Brisbane Greeters have a philosophy of creating a welcoming city and the service they provide is an integral part of Brisbane's warmth and hospitality.”
Ms Sullivan said the Brisbane Greeter philosophy would feature heavily in a professional, industry-wide greeting program to be launched across Brisbane later this year.
“The campaign will encourage all local residents and business operators to see themselves as ambassadors for our city before, during and after the G20,” she said.
