Shao Qiwei Visits Macao


During his visit to Macao on 22 November Shao Qiwei (Chairman of CNTA) paid a courtesy call on Mr. Cheong UZhang Yu (Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture of Macao). They inspected the tourist facilities and scenic spots in Macao. Both sides exchanged views regarding a number of issues, including the construction of a world travel and leisure center in Macao and the promotion of the integration of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.

Mr. Shao said, in recent years, thanks to the positive administration by the Macao SAR Government, Macao had has maintained a stable development of its economy and society. To that, he expressed his congratulations. The state national “12th Five-year Plan” has specially put forward the notion of “supporting Macao to in building into a world travel and leisure center", and CNTA will earnestly implement the decisions and plans of the Central Government. The visit by him and his delegation to Macao, Mr. Shao said, was to conduct specialised research on this and studies on relevant supporting policies.

In his speech, Mr. Cheong U Zhang expressed his gratitude to CNTA for its long-term supports for to Macao’s tourism. The Macao SAR Government will earnestly implement the plans of the Central Government, and speed up the construction of the world travel and leisure center. Aspects such as the deepening of Macao's cooperation with the Mainland, the intensification of the development of non-gambling tourism and the promotion of its integration with Guangdong and Hong Kong will be a priority.

During his visit, Mr. ShaoDirector Shao, at the invitation of Chief Executive Chui Sai On, watched the final of the 58th Grand Prix Motor Racing, inspected tourist attractions and facilities, including the Grand Prix Museum, the Historic Center of Macao, Macao Science Center, Wynn Resorts, and watched the large performance  of “The House of Dancing Water” at “The City of Dreams”. Director Shao established extensive contacts and exchanges with the Macao tourism industry.
