Toronto is the largest city in Canada and considered to be the
most multicultural city in the world. You can virtually hear over a dozen
languages within ten minutes while walking downtown and find any number of
great restaurants from dozens of countries from around the world.
To get a glimpse of what Toronto has to offer, consider 5 of the top
places that everyone should see during their visit to the city:
The Distillery |
The Distillery
One of Canada’s top historic sites, it’s
also home to one of the largest Victorian-era architecture collections that’s
frequently used for filming a wide variety of movies like X-Men, Cinderella
Man, Chicago and Death to Smoochy.
Here you will find dozens of modern stylish
cafes, award winning restaurants, over a dozen art galleries where you can take
your time to stroll the streets since it’s designated for pedestrians only.
CN Tower
CN Tower |
Although it’s no longer the tallest
building in the world, it’s still worth a visit for incredible views and to
have a little fun on the glass floors that offers a look to the base of the
tower, over 1,100 feet below.
The newest attraction brought to the CN is
the Edge Walk, which is literally a walk on the top and outer edge of the tower
observation deck, which is 1,160 feet high.
High Park

High Park is Toronto’s largest park and home to a wide
variety of animals, plants and trees. You can stroll along paths by the
waterfront, follow hiking trails, dine in the park’s restaurant, check out the
zoo or take in one of Shakespeare’s play during the summer at the outdoor
theatre stage.
St. Lawrence Market
St. Lawrence Market |
One of the largest markets in the city, the
St. Lawrence Market has two main buildings that provide a range of different
products to the public. The North building has a traditional farmer’s market
every Saturday and antique market every Sunday, while the South building has a
variety of restaurants, galleries, delis, bakeries and more.
Casa Loma
Casa Loma |
A gothic revival house built in the early
20th Century; Casa Loma looks like an actual castle in the middle of a modern
city. Built for the wealthy Toronto
financier, Sir Henry Mill Pellatt, the home is now available for the public to
view, including the beautiful gardens that surround the estate. Throughout the year, visitors are able to
enjoy incredible brunches, musical and theatrical events or enjoy a quiet
afternoon learning about the rich history of the historical landmark.
You may recognize Casa Loma from famous Hollywood movies as X-Men, Chicago and the English
Patient.
Certainly a city with much to offer, take
some time to explore the different areas from the beautiful lakeshore, beach
areas, shopping districts and try to figure out where some of these other
famous movies were filmed throughout the city: Good Will Hunting, American
Psycho, The Boondock Saints, The Incredible Hulk, Max Payne and more!
