Bangkok - Bursting in Spontaneity

When someone asks you in America, where would you go if you want to do something really spontaneous and wild for once in your life? I guess you’ll always get the answer, “Vegas baby”! But in Asia, there is only one place where you can do that- Bangkok, Thailand!

Seriously, this city is bursting in spontaneity like you literally won’t know what could happen next. There are a lot of things that await you when you’re in here and I have to say that you must really be prepared. Because one moment you’re just having fun drinking regular beer with your regular friends, the next thing you know; you’re in some hedonistic nightclub almost passed out being with women who can turn out to be men the moment you wake up and become sober!

Although Bangkok is quite known for that free-spirited image, it is also known for being totally serene especially when you get to see their monks who are doing their rituals everyday with their incense and silent prayers. In other words, here you’ll witness the extremes on both ends as you try to look for a middle ground of fun.

If you’re too uptight and boxed, then Bangkok just might set that eagle inside of you free the moment you stepped onto their land. Allow me to share with you all the fun things that you can do while in Bangkok (also known as BKK).

The first thing that you could do when you’re here is to take advantage of shopping for really low prices! It is where most Asian countries get their supplies for clothes and other fashion accessories. The cost of living here is also very affordable! Probably one of the lowest costs of living in the world! So grab all the accessories that you want to buy and perhaps you can even be a dealer in your country of their awesome and cool stylish clothing.

Now here comes the fun part- the nightlife! In this city you’ll see a parade of elephants entertaining partygoers at night. And if you don’t want some massive animal entertaining you, then you can always go for some go-go girls in Patpong or Soi Cowboy. And if you want some understated surprises to happen on a fine evening in Bangkok, then Calypso Cabaret where ladyboys can be found just might be the right crowd you’re looking for.

Now going back to having fun not involving the wild nightlife of the city, I say let’s talk about their cuisine. When it comes to oriental dining, I think that the Thais have actually mastered it. Aside from not using chopsticks for utensils, I don’t think you’ll have a hard time loving their dishes. In this city, it’s impossible that you will get hungry from all the food stalls that will you find in almost every corner.

Check the area called Banglamphu’s narrow sois because you have got to try their bestselling pad thai and spicy papaya salad! This city is also known for having such diverse restaurants, so wherever part of the world you came from; I’m sure you’ll not miss the taste of your food back home since you can find that here. They have Indian, Western, European, Asian and even Mediterranean food available for your hungry stomach.

I’m the type of traveller who would always want to know how the history of the place that I’m visiting took place and I think that going in a museum has to be part of a travelling tradition. Not only will you get to know the country’s history, but it will actually help you be educated on how a certain place has progressed seeing all the evidences that it has acquired with the past. And that’s why I would have to recommend that you check The National Museum of Thailand.

This museum has been in Bangkok since 1782. Their collection of their country’s local art and other archeology artifacts is just outstanding. From those pieces you will see that these people are born for monarchy. I was fascinated to see all the personal items owned by their late Princess Sri Sudarak.

So to wrap this up, if you’re really looking for something that is completely out of your comfort zone in an Asian country; then Bangkok must be your next destination!
