Normandy Festivals in 2024

Granville Carnival
Normandy is a region of northern France with a coastline that takes in white-chalk cliffs and WWII beachheads, including Omaha Beach, site of the D-Day landing.

Just off the coast, the rocky island of Mont-Saint-Michel has a Gothic abbey.

The city of Rouen, dominated by Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Rouen, is where Catholic saint Joan of Arc was executed in 1431.

Granville Carnival

The UNESCO-listed Granville Carnival will be celebrating its 150th anniversary from 9 to 13 February 2024. There is a grand parade of forty satirical floats, 3,000 participants with over 150,000 visitors and ‘zillions of confetti flakes hitting the streets of Granville during the carnival’.

The 80th anniversary of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy

Normandy will commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy by welcoming veterans, officials and tens of thousands of visitors from around the world. A rich and unprecedented program of events will bring the memory of this tragic period of world history to life, all while emphasizing the spirit of hope.
