The increasingly popular competition is back thanks to the festival’s long partnership with P&O Cruises who return as a Supporting Partner in 2023. The P&O People’s Choice Award provides an opportunity for Groundwater CMF fans to jump on board the festival app or website and vote for their favourite performer out of the 50 plus incredible artists playing across 15 stages and venues from Friday 20 October – Sunday 22 October. One lucky voter will also sail away on a three-night cruise for two, in an Oceanview room on board P&O’s Country Music Cruise departing Brisbane in 2024.
“Groundwater CMF is a great chance to showcase the music talent we have in Australia, and P&O loves to help bring country fans together to have a good time,” said Ryan Taibel, Vice President Sales & Partnerships, P&O Cruises. “Not only do fans have the power to crown the 2023 P&O People’s Choice award winner, but also the chance to win a cruise by voting for their favourite act.”
Previous winners of the P&O People’s Choice Award include country music royalty Travis Collins, Casey Barnes, and The Wolfe Brothers, with the friendly rivalry between artists heating up every year for this now coveted award.
“The P&O People’s Choice Award has become synonymous with Groundwater CMF and is definitely a popular part of the festival experience for our fans,” said Festival Director Mark Duckworth. “It’s great to have the team at P&O Cruises back on board again in 2023 to continue our long partnership.
“Last year we had thousands of entries and plenty of incredible artists to choose from, but it was Travis Collins who was the highlight for most. I have a feeling it is going to be another tough call for fans to choose a favourite at this year’s festival.”
Australia’s favourite cruise line celebrates 90 years of cruising this year and with more than half a million people set to sail this year alone, P&O Cruises is by far Australia’s number one choice for a cruise holiday.
Like Groundwater CMF, P&O Cruises have been creating truly unique country music experiences of their own, with their luxurious country music themed cruises designed for like-minded music lovers to enjoy out at sea.
