The vibrant Mudgee region is just 3.5 hours drive from Sydney. Combining country charm with a city’s worth of things to do, the region offers a wealth of attractions for visitors.

The beautiful region is made-up of four vibrant town centres in Gulgong, Kandos, Mudgee and Rylstone as well as many unique rural villages.

Tourism is a vital part of our local economy. Midwestern Regional Council works closely with the local tourism industry to ensure visitors have an enjoyable experience that'll see them planning their return trip. The Mudgee region is blessed with outstanding tourist delights, from picturesque scenery, fine wine and locally grown produce to entice food lovers, or if it's action you're after the region hosts national and international sporting spectaculars at the Glen Willow Regional Sporting Complex.

Glen Willow has been home to the Charity Shield for five years will again host the legendary NLR pre-season clash between the South Sydney Rabbitohs and Saint George Illawarra Dragons in 2023. Keep in touch with council social media channels for game dates.

Bring the family along to enjoy a game, and while you're here make sure you visit the Mudgee Water Park, one of the many family activities on offer. During your visit call into Gulgong and step back into time to the site of gold discovery in NSW or let your children's imagination run wild at the Gulgong Adventure Playground. Head to Rylstone for a scenic drive or bushwalk and have a bite to eat and one of the quaint restaurants. From there it's only a short drive to Kandos, a town with an eclectic history and the gateway to the Wonderland of the Wollemi National Park.

There are many reasons to visit and many major events to delight including councils extremely popular Flavours of Mudgee Street Festival in September.

I hope you enjoy your visit and if you find yourself not wanting to leave perhaps it's time to consider a move.
