Promising to be the biggest Pride celebration ever in the Southern Hemisphere, Sydney will be exploding with rainbows and glitter, blistering parties, fabulous parades, and landmark events over a 17-day period. This campaign will serve to encourage travellers to visit Sydney to celebrate the community whilst also rediscovering the magic of the city.
“We are so excited that WorldPride is coming to Australia next year and we are proud to support the LGBTQIA+ community, showcasing and celebrating events all over the city” said Sarah Mathews, Head of Media Partnerships for APAC, Tripadvisor. “The wonderful thing about this campaign is that we are able to bring together useful and relevant travel guidance for the LGBTQIA+ community while also highlighting the wonders and vibrancy of the host city, Sydney.”
Sydney couldn’t be a better city to host WorldPride 2023. The year marks the 50th anniversary of the first Australian Gay Pride Week, the 45th anniversary of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, and the 5th year of same-sex marriage in Australia. With the theme Gather. Dream. Amplify., Sydney WorldPride and Tripadvisor are working together to assemble the global community in an even bigger celebration of the diverse LGBTQIA+ identities and culture than ever before.
From February 17 to March 5, 2023, there will be more than 300 exciting events over 17 days across a myriad of iconic spots in the city, from the Sydney Harbour Bridge to Bondi Beach. Expect a smorgasbord of marches, parades, festivals, concerts, conferences, and activities that showcase the boldest and brightest of Australia’s LGBTQIA+ community and allies. Whilst in Sydney, travellers are encouraged to make the most of their trip and explore the rest of New South Wales—one of the most diverse, vibrant, and scenic states in Australia.
