Estimated daily crowds of over 40,000 people were experienced across the festival, with 30,000 of those recorded in the festival precinct each day.
Toyota Country Music Festival Manager, Barry Harley said the 51st year has been a fantastic return to tradition for the iconic event.
“The Tamworth Country Music Festival is proud to own the title of the nation’s largest country music event and it definitely lived up to the hype, with great crowd numbers across the 10-days,” he said.
“Free concerts in Toyota Park welcomed big numbers, with over 8,000 people in the park between 6pm-10pm for the Opening Concert.”
Venues also reported strong ticket sales, with many artists selling out their shows.
Executive Producer of the 2023 Toyota Golden Guitar Awards, Peter Ross said: “There were strong ticket sales at the Golden Guitar Awards, and many artists like James Johnston and Casey Barnes, played to sell-out crowds during the festival.
“Overall ticket sales were slightly up on previous years, which is fantastic to see and big numbers were experienced at several shows including Troy Cassar-Daley, Kasey Chambers, Lee Kernaghan and John Williamson.”
Highlights from the 51st Toyota Country Music Festival included the Opening Concert in Toyota Park, which was headlined by 2022 Golden Guitar winners Shane Nicholson and Tamworth local Ashleigh Dallas, as well as 2022 Toyota Star Maker Max Jackson, 2022 Bush Ballad of the Year winner Angus Gill and 2023 Toyota Star Maker Finalist Jacob Vincent.
Tamworth local and proud Gamilaraay woman Loren Ryan was crowned the 2023 Toyota Star Maker and the achievements and success of artists was celebrated at the Toyota 51st Golden Guitar Awards.
The 51st Toyota Country Music Festival was capped off with the Toyota Best of the Buskers concert last night, with Tamworth local and former The Voice contestant Lane Pittman crowned the winner.
“To the fans, the visitors, the industry and the artists, thank you for coming back to Tamworth, for what has been a fantastic return to tradition,” said Mr Harley.
“A massive thank you also goes to our dedicated sponsors and partners, including Toyota, DNSW and McDonald’s Australia, as well as Kennards Hire, Country Music Capital News, Australian Community Media, KIX Country Radio, XXXX, and WIN, whom without this fantastic event would not be possible.
“We’ll see you all in 2024!”
The 52nd Toyota Country Music Festival, Tamworth will be held from Friday, 19 to Sunday, 28 January 2024.
