Thailand in February

In February, the temperature of Thailand is higher. It’s the month of seasons changing from the Cool to the hot season. Therefore, the beginning of February is still in the cool season while the middle of the month onwards is the hot season, but it’s not as hot as in March and April. In terms of activities and popular attractions, there are lots of them from the Northern to the southern region including the farewell Trip for the cool season, saying goodbye to the sea of mist in the North, nature trips at Dams, nice weather at Kanchanaburi or Rajjaprabha Dam in Surat Thani, fun trips with water activities and photo taking of the beautiful sea and clear sky at the Beaches and the sea on the southern and Eastern coasts and then posting them on social media. In February, there are more as follows: the international Balloon Festival, which is the biggest EVENT in ASEAN held at Singha Park, Chiang Mai province; paying respect to the Buddha’s footprint, Wat Pluang Khao Khitchakut, Chanthaburi province; Hae Pha Khuen That, a unique religious and rare seen festival held only in nakhon Si Thammarat, a province in the South.

When February comes, it’s time to say goodbye to the cool weather in the North. Nature lovers can join the fantastic experience and appreciate the beauty of the sea mist in many provinces; such as, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Mae Hong Son, Loei, etc. Some names of mountains are doi inthanon, Doi Pha Hom Pok, Pu Chi Fah , Doi Pha Tang, Pang Oung, Phu Kradueng, Phu Tog, etc. An extraordinary festival regularly held in Chiang Rai in February is the International Balloon Festival, the biggest festival in ASEAN at Singha Park. This festival is remarkable with balloons, flower gardens and a nice atmosphere. When you get a chance, come at least once to experience this magnificent event.

The next attractions that make February colourful and fantastic are located in many provinces. They are as follows: Khao Chin Lae Sunflower Field, Lop Buri province; multi-colour Cosmos at Jim Thompson’s Farm; Late Cool-Season Floral Park at Wang Nam Khiao, Nakhon Ratchasima province; Yellow Po Thuang Field (yellow Flowers of sunny hemp) at Rai Thammachai, Nakhon Sawan province, Thung Bua Daeng at Bang Len, the Pink World of Chompoo Pantip (blossoming pink trumpet trees), Nakhon Prathom province and much more. It can be guaranteed that the end of your cool season must be very colourful.

Dams or reservoirs are also popular destinations during February. Because the nice weather, not too cold and not too hot, and the natural views of both rivers and mountains can make you feel relaxed. enjoy jumping into the water exactly in front of your room. Just lay back and chill. On the days that the weather is nice, 360-degree views of the morning mist can be seen as well. The most popular dams are the Rajjaprabha Dam, Surat Thani province and Srinagarind Dam, Kanchanaburi province.

According to the fact that February is the beginning of the hot season, it’s not surprising that sea and beaches are the most favourite attractions whether it be the Gulf of Thailand or the Andaman Sea, the east and west of the Southern region. There are lots of choices . The places which aren’t too far from Bangkok include Ko Lam, Ko Si Chang and Ko Samae San in Chon Buri province; Hua Hin Beach, Cha-Am Beach, Ban Krut Beach and Suan Son Pradipat in Prachuap Khiri Khan province. There are also many choices for tourists who want to visit the Eastern region to choose; such as, Ko Chang, Ko Kut, Ko Mak and Ko Kham in Trat province, Mueang Ko Krueang Roi. Without a doubt, each place is gorgeous because of its atmosphere, fine white sand, clear water, challenging water activities, the abundance of the underwater world and Local people’s way of life. Anyone who is interested in the Southern region should start packing and just buy only a one-way ticket, and a ticket for a return trip can be bought later because the experience at the Andaman Sea is so extraordinary that you’ll definitely want to extend your trip and you might have thrown away your return ticket if you had already bought one. Some fantastic places are Ko Tachai, Koh Ko Similan, Mu Ko surin, Ko Tapu and many more in Phang Nga; Nai Han Beach, Karon Beach, Ko Racha, Ko Hae, Ko Mai Ton and others in Phuket. These islands and beaches are abundant in natural resources from little clown fish to giant whales, which are there to welcome every single tourist.

Moreover, the festivals held in February are also a must-do topic to be mentioned here. The first one is “Hae Pha Khuen That”, a Buddhist festival which is the symbol of Nakhon Sri Thammarat and held in this province only. The next one is well-known and must be mentioned as well. It is “Paying Respect to the Buddha’s footprint, Wat Pluang, Khao Khitchakul”, Chanthaburi province. This place is open around the clock from the beginning of February to April for visitors to pay respect and pray. This traditional event has been inherited by the people for a long time in the belief that it will bring them and their family happiness and fortune. The days from the end of the cool season to the beginning of the hot season are perfect for visiting Tourist Attractions, doing activities, and joining festivals. How amazing! Start packing and leave for a trip with someone you love.
