Nightlife in Bangkok

Bangkok nightlife offers plenty of options for all types of travelers.

Whether you want to party it up at the club, grab a drink on a rooftop bar, watch a cultural show, or go on a river cruise, the choices are endless.

See our breakdown of Bangkok, Thailand nightlife below:

Clubs:

A thriving metropolis, Bangkok is no exception to clubbing, and with many premier clubs scattered throughout the city, you’ll be hard-pressed to make a decision. Some popular ones include the Royal City Avenue (RCA) area, and places like Levels Club & Lounge, Onyx, Ce La Vie, Sing Sing Theater, Route66, and BEAM.

Bars:

If you’d rather have a good time without the loud electronic music from the clubs, Bangkok’s bar scene is as diverse as its club scene. Check out Vertigo and Moon Bar, Maggie Choo’s, Saxophone Pub, The Bamboo Bar, and The Iron Fairies to name but a few.

Go Go Bars:

Thailand is known for their burlesque-y themed go go bars, and Bangkok has quite a few that cater to foreigners, such as Bada Bing, Baccara, Angelwitch, Billboard, Tilac Bar, and Spanky’s Agogo. You can usually find go go bars in three main areas in Bangkok: Soi Cowboy in Asok, Nana Plaza Bangkok, and Soi Patpong in Silom.

Ladyboy Shows:

Bangkok is known to have some of the best ladyboy performances in the world. So if you’re in the mood for cabaret-like performances from glitzy and glamorous ladyboys, hit up places like Obsession, Cockatoo, Temptations, King’s Castle III, Straps, and King’s Corner.

Cultural Shows:

On the other end of the Bangkok performance spectrum, you’ll find cultural shows and performances that depict some of Thailand’s beliefs, culture, history, and art. Some popular shows include Siam Niramit, Khon at the Sala Chalermkrung Royal Theatre, and Aksra Theatre. You can also check out the National Theatre and Thailand Cultural Centre for shows as well.

Muay Thai Fights:

Alternatively, you could spend the night watching one of Thailand’s most beloved sports. Catch Muay Thai Live at the Asiatique Bangkok, and be prepared to witness a combination of the ancient martial art with other entertaining performances. Click here to experience a Muay Thai live show.

River Cruises:

A city is always different at night, and one of the best ways to experience that is to go on a river cruise to fully appreciate the bright lights of the dazzling cityscape. There are plenty of agencies that offer dinner cruises along the Chao Phraya River and passes by Wat Arun (Temple of the Dawn), the Grand Palace, and the golden Rama VIII Bridge. Check our Chao Phraya Princess Dinner Cruise Tour.

Street Markets:

Synonymous with Bangkok’s nightlife are the street markets you can find on every turn. Whether you’re there to eat, shop, drink, dance, or all of the above, places like Khaosan Road, Sukhumvit Road, Chakphet Road, Rama 4 Road, and Srinakarin Road all have great street markets with multiple vendors selling their wares.

Massages:

If you’d rather have a relaxing night being pampered with a traditional Thai massage, there’s no better place than Bangkok to get one. There are hundreds of massage places (even on the streets!) where you can inquire about the different kinds of spa treatments. Some of the popular places include the Asia Herb Association, Wat Pho Traditional Thai Massage, Health Land, Massage by the Blind, Urban Retreat, Number One, Let’s Relax Spa or Lek Massage.
