Little National Hotel - New Luxury Hotel Now Open in Sydney.

Little National Hotel Sydney
The exciting news is that a new luxury hotel is now open in Sydney. Last week I experienced staying at the recently opened 12 story, 230 room Little National Hotel. It is modern, It is contemporary. It is luxury.

The first great feature of the hotel is its handy central location with its easy accessibility for travelers. Located at 26 Clarence Street, it is just above the entry/exit escalators to Wynyard Station. I traveled from my home in country NSW by train to Central Station, so it was then just a short train ride to Wynyard Station and I had arrived at the Little National Hotel.

It was a simple matter of taking one of the lifts from the entry lobby up to the reception level where check-in was a breeze. Then it was up the lifts to my room on the 6th floor. This is a high tech hotel, with the lifts and the door to my guest room operated by a programmed key card. It was handy just slipping this into my wallet and not having to worry about carrying a room key around with me.

My compact room, even though not very wide, was airy and bright. A large picture window filled the outside wall. The attractive room was furnished with a table, chair, wardrobe, and refreshment centre.

Little National Hotel Sydney - Guestroom
The "Arms of Morpheus" super king-sized bed and pillows were a dream to sleep on. I snuggled under the fluffy doona with the room just at my preferred cosy temperature due to the efficient self-controlled room air-conditioner. I slept soundly each night in the very quiet room.

I availed my self of he refreshments provided in the room, which included a selection of T2 teas and a Nespresso pod coffee machine and selection of pods. The 3 different types of milk were kept in the mini-bar fridge. This doubled as a Virtual Bar, with drinks brought to the room on request.

Entertainment in the room was provided by the Samsung Smart TV that could be chromecast. A range of free movies were provided as well. I was out and about during most days, but I did appreciate this modern TV to watch before and after sleeping.

Unlimited free Wifi was provided in the room and throughout the Hotel, and USB ports were provided on either side of the bedhead. There were plenty of power points in the room to connect my devices with.

A variety of lighting options lit the room, which were controlled by push buttons rather than old fashioned switches. There were general, mood, ambient, above bed reading and night lights to choose from. These lighting options meant that I could chose the lighting level to suit what I was doing in the room.

Little National Hotel Sydney - Outdoor Balcony
The opening and closing of the curtain and raising and lowering of the blackout blind were also operated by push buttons. The blackout blind was so effective in keeping out the sunlight that on my last day at the Little National Hotel I slept in until 10.30am. (This was OK, as I needed to catch up on my sleep, and I had previously arranged a late midday checkout.)

Fitting in with the high tech nature of the hotel, there was no phone in the room. Rather a Tablet was provided that you could use to contact Guest Services, make phone calls, and order food.

The bright and clean bathroom had a choice of two shower types and a range Appelles Apothecary & Lab Skin and Hair care products. A highlight was the provision of the luxurious cuddly bathrobe. Usually when I stay at hotels I do not use the bathrobes provided, as I find them rather harsh and uncomfortable to wear. However, this Australian-made bathrobe was plush and a delight to wear, so I wore it each night after my shower.

Little National Hotel Sydney - Library
Unlike other hotels, there is no restaurant at the Little National Hotel. This is not a draw back, as it encourages the guests to explore the many nearby restaurants and cafes in the CBD and the nearby new Barangaroo area. Apart from eating out, guests can dine in their rooms or on the rooftop Lounge as many nearby restaurants have food delivery services to the Hotel.

The attractive Outdoor Garden Balcony, Lounge, Terrace Bar and Library occupied the top 11th floor of the Little National Hotel. These relaxing areas provided plush seating to unwind and mingle with other guests. The relaxing ambience offered a delightful place to enjoy a quite drink. The Library section had long work desks with unlimited Wifi, USB and power ports, and a wireless colored printer.  This was the ideal spot to complete that bit of work needed doing whilst staying at the Hotel. Complimentary Nespresso coffee, T2 tea, still and sparkling water were much appreciated provisions.

Little National Hotel Sydney - Gym
The Little National hotel offers its guests health and well-being with the provision of a fully equipped gym. This gym, located on the reception level, offers 14 pieces of the very latest in gym equipment.
