Ancash, snowcapped peaks and colorful lakes

Located north of the country's capital, Ancash has a very diverse geography from the northwest coast to the Andes Mountains of Peru, showcasing beaches, valleys, flora and fauna but the greatest attraction are the snowcapped peaks, the highest in the entire country and its impressive glacial lagoons that range from brilliant emerald color to the deepest turquoise.

The Huascaran National Park is one of the most emblematic of Peru and is located in this region. It is one of the areas with the greatest biological and cultural diversity of the entire country. Visitors can practice mountain biking, skiing, climbing, adventure walks and cultural tourism that allows to know this fascinating place, the origin of millenary Peruvian cultures such as the ancient Chavin civilization, the most important pilgrimage center in the Andean world, where travelers payed respect to the feline anthropomorphic god.
