Machu Picchu is chosen as the best tourist destination in South America

The World Travel Awards for South America awarded Peru with four recognitions, including “Best Tourist Attraction”: Machu Picchu. It comes as the Inca sanctuary has just been reopened for tourism.

The other awards for Peru were: “Best Cultural Destination”, “Best Green Destination” and “Best Cruise Destination”. The winners were announced at the Latin America Winners Days. The event, unlike other years was held virtually in its 27th edition.
