Castaways Resort

2018 was a big year for Castaways Resort.  Marsden Resorts purchased the property from the Shine family mid-year and have already made some exciting improvements. Guests at the resort will notice a refreshed brand as well as a sparkling new, fully refurbished restaurant. So it was goodbye to Agave and welcome to Castaways Restaurant & Bar, including new Head Chef, Alit Anggraini.

Chef Alit brings with her an extensive resume having worked in hotel and resort restaurants in Abu Dhabi, the UAE and throughout Indonesia. These influences are reflected in her unique dishes that draw on her own Indonesian heritage whilst using fresh local produce to ensure a NZ flavour remains on the menu.

The refurbished restaurants’ interior reflects the rugged beauty of its west coast location. Natural elements, such as the wooden floors, tables and panelling add dimension and make the space feel warm and inviting, without detracting from the spectacular views over Karioitahi Beach that the Resort is known for.

Plans are in the pipeline to continue the programme of refurbishment and upgrade to other areas of the Resort in 2019 and 2020.
