In particular, the iconic South Atrium entrance foyer will re-open as a revitalised event space and hospitality hub, perfect for private functions where guests can explore the Museum’s exciting new galleries and exhibitions after hours. This new bookable event space will also be a destination in its own right - a place to meet friends, enjoy a new café experience or browse in the Museum store and an entrance to the galleries and exhibitions.
The reinvigorated South Atrium entrance will link directly to the new Tamaki Stories Gallery - a new permanent gallery that will for the first time take guests through the story of an evolving Auckland with rich interactive content bringing our past, present and future to life.
