Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated four new museums in the capital, dedicated to the revolutionary zeal and courage of India’s freedom fighters.
The complex of museums, also known as Kranti Mandir, is located at the colonial-era barracks of the Red Fort, offering glimpses of key moments from the Indian freedom struggle. It includes the Subhas Chandra Bose museum, which documents Bose’s life and the INA movement. Yaad-e-Jallian Museum offers an account of the Jallianwalla Bagh massacre, a pivotal moment in India’s struggle for freedom.
Also, part of the complex is The Museum of 1857, that portrays the struggles of the mutiny and the Drishyakala Museum, showcasing the best of Indian art and culture via historic works of arts by eminent Indian artists such as Raja Ravi Varma, Amrita Sher-Gil, Rabindranath Tagore, Abaniindranath Tagore and Jamini Roy.
