WAGGA WAGGA TO WELCOME STUDENT ATHLETES FOR THE EASTERN UNIVERSITY GAMES

The largest university sporting event to be held in Wagga Wagga this year, the 2015 Eastern University Games, was launched today at Charles Sturt University (CSU). The event is expected to generate more than $2 million in visitor expenditure and showcase the best of Wagga Wagga’s tourism and sporting facilities.

Destination NSW Chief Executive Officer Sandra Chipchase said, “The Eastern University Games will attract thousands of students from across NSW and the ACT to Wagga Wagga this July. Participants will be able to utilise the city’s great sporting facilities and enjoy everything this region has to offer.

“Destination NSW is proud to have secured this event for Regional NSW for three years from 2014 to 2016. I encourage student athletes to start planning their visit now, and ensure they make time to enjoy attractions such as the beautiful Murrumbidgee River, Riverina wines and great local restaurants,” Ms Chipchase said.

The Games will be held from 5-9 July and feature 16 sports.
