I was very pleased today to help launch the Tasmanian Arts Guide, a new cultural tourism website designed to assist the tens of thousands of national and international visitors with an interest in the arts.
The website lists almost 100 Tasmania arts and cultural businesses including galleries, bookshops, small and major museums, public artwork sites, studios, live music and performing arts venues.
The Guide also presents the wealth of arts activity taking place across Tasmania, including exhibitions, performances, festivals and arts market, and profiles a selection of professional Tasmanian artists and arts companies whose work is available for visitors to view year-round.
Visitors can explore creative travel guides, trails and feature articles and access tips available exclusively through the Tasmanian Arts Guide.
The Guide is managed by Arts Tasmania and is delivered in partnership with both the arts and cultural industry and the tourism industry.
The arts businesses listed on the website have undergone an application process so visitors can be confident of a high quality experience.
The Tasmanian Arts Guide offers arts businesses the opportunity to boost their online profile and engage new audiences through a quality website specifically designed to target those with an interest arts and culture.
The website is also a great resource for Tasmanians looking for ideas for weekend activities – be it a night of theatre, an exhibition opening or a trip to a design market.
