Following an extensive redevelopment late last year Australia’s newest five-star hotel, The Langham Sydney, is set to officially launch this month. The $30 million redesign saw the building transformed as the newest hotel under the Hong Kong based Langham Hospitality Group’s portfolio.
Langham Hospitality Group purchased The Langham, Sydney (previously The Observatory Hotel) in 2012 from Orient Express and rebranded in the same year before confirming redesign plans in 2014.
This anticipated redevelopment was executed in four months.
Comprising of 98 rooms and suites, The Langham, Sydney embodies modern luxury and lavish elegance. From the stunning Grand Langham Room – the largest standard room in Sydney, to the two or three bedroom Residence Suite with private chef’s kitchenette, to the opulent riches of The Observatory Suite, every room boasts impeccable design, quality finishes and attention to detail.
Social Sydney isn’t forgotten with new lifestyle market additions; Palm Court hosts an opulent tea room overlooking the Western Harbour through Parisian style shutters, serving afternoon tea with Wedgwood; from late afternoon onwards, Palm Court Bar treats Sydney-siders to gastronomic cocktails and jazz with some of Europe’s finest mixologists behind the bar; soon to be launched private butler tennis afternoons on the hotel’s city-scape tennis court and a brand new foodie offering, Kent Street Kitchen led by Chef de Cuisine, Daniel Rudolph serving a European chic menu.
