REGATTA FINDS A HOME AT PENRITH

World-class rowing will remain in Western Sydney, with the Sydney International Rowing Regatta (SIRR) to take place at the Sydney International Rowing Centre in Penrith for the next three years.

Sydney International Rowing Regatta 2015 will be held from Monday 23 to Sunday 29 March and will feature the King’s and Queen’s Cups Interstate Regatta as well as the Australian National and Schools Open Championships.

The event is expected to attract a top class field, with the best Australian rowers going head to head in a range of historic races.

Last year the event attracted over 8,000 visitors, with a total visitor expenditure of over $9.8 million. Similar results are expected for the upcoming regatta.

Destination NSW Chief Executive Officer Sandra Chipchase said, “the Sydney International Rowing Regatta is an important feature in what is a packed 2015 events calendar for NSW, including the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, Netball World Cup, Touch Football World Cup, Bledisloe Cup and many more.”
