A state-wide programme of activities, including concerts, street markets, sports competitions and awards was launched this week demonstrating the strength of NSW’s cultural diversity.
The programme, titled Multicultural March, is an initiative of the NSW Government which complements National Harmony Day, being held on 21 March.
Multicultural NSW CEO Hakan Harman said: “Multicultural March reminds us, that apart from the First Australians, we are all part of this country’s rich migrant story.
“Our identity as Australians is made up of 170 unique cultures and I urge everyone to take the opportunity to participate in activities that will broaden their understanding of the diverse cultural communities which make up our state.”
