RAISE A GLASS TO FOOD AND WINE FESTIVAL

The Sydney Morning Herald New South Wales Food and Wine Festival presented by Citi returns to Sydney and Regional NSW this weekend.

The Festival showcases the State’s world-class food and wine experiences and the talented people behind it all. The Sydney Morning Herald Growers’ Market is the first of the Festival’s events, taking place on Saturday 7 February at Pyrmont Bay Park. Featuring a special demonstration of recipes from celebrated chef Matt Moran, fresh produce sourced from all across the State, artisan cheese from the Australian Specialist Cheesemakers’ Association stall, and tastings of great NSW wines, the event will be a fantastic start to the month-long Festival.

A full program of events celebrating the State’s finest food and wine offerings runs right the way through to 1 March, with the return of festival favourites including Dine with NSW Wine, Sticky and Sweet, Sparkling Brunches and High Teas, Taste the Region, and Snacks and Street Food.

NSW Deputy Premier and Minister for Tourism and Major Events Troy Grant says: “The NSW Food and Wine Festival is an important showcase of the great local produce, outstanding wines, and variety of culinary experiences on offer right across the State.”

“The NSW Government is pleased to support the Festival, giving locals and visitors to Sydney and Regional NSW the chance to meet the talented chefs, vignerons and producers that make NSW a destination of choice for food and wine visitors from across Australia and the world.”

Mr Grant attended the launch of the NSW Food and Wine Festival on Thursday evening in Pyrmont. Also in attendance was the Governor of NSW, His Excellency General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d), who announced that Government House will now only serve NSW food and wine at official functions.
