Feast on Autumn at High Country Harvest This May - Book Your Seat, Picnic Rug, Horse or Bike

Food and wine lovers are invited to get up close and personal with North East Victoria's top producers, chefs, winemakers and craft brewers at HIGH COUNTRY HARVEST (15 – 24 May). Book your cosy seat, picnic rug, horse or bike at more than 40 curated events, taking place over 10 days in the High Country's autumnal valleys and mountains. Punctuate the whole adventure with the festival's NEW Village Bonfires, sip-worthy Autumn Warmers and Harvest Menus between events.

BOOKABLE EVENTS

Don your finest vintage garb and exercise your appetite on Rutherglen's Tweed Ride, or slip on your gumboots to visit local farms and forage in forests; make a date with our locavores at neighbourhood feasts and intimate wine gatherings, or learn to grow your own with rosy cheeks, from garlic to sourdough cultures. The curated event program ranges from picnics and bonfires under big High Country skies, to bike and horseback rides weaving to High Country feasts, to hands-on classes in unhurried old-world techniques with a new-world spin.

VILLAGE BONFIRES – NEW TO 2015

Gather with the locals at twilight around one of our Village Bonfires to warm your toes and celebrate the harvest. Mingle over fireside appetisers such as chilli hot chocolate, roasted chestnuts, mulled wine or toasted home-made marshmallows, before moving on to a High Country Harvest dinner or ticking a restaurant off your High Country dining bucket list.

AUTUMN WARMERS – NEW TO 2015

Fan your autumn glow with warming tipples at cellar doors, cafes and wine bars across the region. These special Autumn Warmers are designed to punctuate your High Country Harvest adventure between events, with scores of snifters to choose from. Highlights include a Quince & Castagna Vermouth Warmer (Thirteen Steps, Bright), a Warm Spiced Tolmie Cider (Café Derailleur, Wangaratta), and Citrus & Spiced Mulled Wine (Café Fez, Myrtleford).

High Country Harvest is taking place in spectacular settings right across the High Country, including Beechworth, Benalla & Winton Wetlands, Bright & Surrounds, Glenrowan, Mansfield, Milawa & the King Valley, Rutherglen, Tallangatta & Lake Hume and Wangaratta.

Full program on sale 1 March.
