Bach Dang Spring Flower Street opens in Da Nang

Bach Dang Spring Flower Street, themed ‘Da Nang - Brilliant Colours of Spring’, is taking place along the western bank of the Han River in Da Nang City, Vietnam from February 9 to 27 for the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday.

The street are decorated and divided into six areas - the big scenery on sacred objects, village scenary, spring frame, rainbow in bloom, goat horn gate and spring garden - based on the idea of both traditional and modern atmospheres, representing the continuous flow from the past to present and future.

The spring flower street is decorated with 20,000 flower baskets with 50 kinds of flowers, mostly raspberry daisies and colorful chrysanthemums, with yellow as the major theme colour symbolising coziness and prosperity.

This year’s event highlights a spectacular floral arrangement replicating a family of goats, this year’s zodiac sign, in a geometrical design.

Additionally, a LED lighting system, ‘Lighting Garden’, featuring three main decorative clusters and five huge glass towers, has been installed at the west end of Dragon Bridge for the Lunar New Year event.

Tran Hung Dao Street, along the eastern bank of the Han River, will also be colourfully decorated with a map of Vietnam affirming sovereignty over the Truong Sa (Spratly) and Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelagos.

The Spring Flower Street was funded with VND 5 billion from the socialized budget and is expected to attract 15,000 domestic and international visitors per day, said Chu Khanh Huong, VietArt Media’s Director of VietArt Media – Bach Dang flower street’s construction unit.
