Aircalin and New Caledonia Tourism Launch 'Have It All' Campaign With New Flights Direct from Melbourne to Noumea

Direct flights from Melbourne make New Caledonia's French sophistication and island relaxation more accessible than ever.

In the lead up to the inaugural direct Melbourne to Noumea flight scheduled for June 6 2014, Aircalin and New Caledonia Tourism have launched a joint advertising campaign, 'Have it all', to inspire more Australians to experience New Caledonia's European sophistication and island climate.

The campaign which launches today will highlight to Australians, that New Caledonia with its unique blend of island landscapes, French culture and Melanesian traditions, is closer and more accessible than ever before. Aircalin has released a special launch fare of AUD$499, including all taxes and fuel levies, for a limited time only. This fare is available for sale as of today, Monday, 14 April until 28 April, and is valid for travel between 6 June and 16 September, 2014.

Flying Aircalin, New Caledonia is only a short two hours from Brisbane, two and half hours from Sydney and, as of June, just under four hours from Melbourne. Aircalin's new Melbourne flights, scheduled on a Friday and Tuesday, means travellers can easily visit New Caledonia for a long weekend, arriving just in time for a sumptuous and authentic French dining experience.

Aircalin general manager for Australia, NZ and Fiji, Ken Triffit, says both Aircalin and New Caledonia Tourism are very committed to the launch of the new route;

“We are all committed to the success of the new route, and that is why both Aircalin and New Caledonia Tourism have invested a significant amount into this campaign which is a mix of direct consumer advertising and co-operative marketing with partners,” Ken said.

New Caledonia Tourism's newly appointed sales & marketing director, Caroline Brunel, says it is an exciting time for the destination with the new flight adding to a range of other developments which will drive visitors from Australia.

“The development of the new Melbourne route is very exciting for the destination, there are also a range of developments happening on the ground including the new Sheraton New Caledonia Deva Resort & Spa in Bourail set to open in July this year and the recent entry of the Hilton brand to New Caledonia.

“This campaign is the first step in what will be a very busy year for New Caledonia Tourism and Aircalin as we work towards generating much higher levels of visitation for the destination,” Caroline said.

Aircalin's new services will depart twice weekly on Tuesdays and Fridays in both directions and will increase to three services per week from late October. All flights are full-service offering complimentary meals and beverages along with one piece of luggage up to 23 kilograms at no additional cost.
