The Picasso Museum in Malaga
is organising an exhibition on the different stages of the career of one of the
most important artists in the last century. Giacometti's work is essential to
understand the development of avant-garde trends and contemporary art.
It is the first retrospective exhibition on this artist that
is taking place in Spain
for over 20 years. It will take place in the Buenavista Palace
and will display nearly 160 works of art and 20 photographs by other authors
who document the Swiss artist's work. A perfect way of getting know more about
this artist, who was a painter, sculptor, illustrator, engraver, creator of
decorative objects, and writer. With some exceptions, all the works of art come
from collections belonging to the Alberto y Annette Giacometti Foundation,
created by the artist's widow.
Dates: On now until Feb 15, 2012. Open Tuesday to Thursday from
10am to 8pm, from Friday to Saturday from 10am to 9pm. Public holidays and
Sundays from 10am to 8pm
