Introducing a Bilingual E-Learning Platform for Ocean Awareness

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has unveiled Coral College, a bilingual e-learning platform designed to raise tourist awareness about marine safety, environmental protection, and responsible travel. Launched in Phuket, the platform aims to educate both domestic and international visitors on preserving Thailand’s precious marine ecosystems.

Setting New Standards in Marine Tourism at Phuket

Phuket, renowned worldwide for its vibrant marine life and crystal-clear waters, is the perfect launchpad for Coral College. The project is a collaborative effort involving Chiang Mai University’s Center for Innovation and Digital Technology Management, Global Impact Consulting Co., Ltd. (Hackathon Thailand), and local marine tourism businesses. This partnership highlights Thailand’s commitment to balancing tourism growth with environmental conservation.

Interactive Learning for Responsible Ocean Exploration

Coral College offers a series of engaging, interactive modules covering essential topics such as coral reef protection, marine safety tips, and sustainable snorkeling and freediving practices. By educating tourists before they embark on underwater adventures, the platform aims to reduce harmful behaviors like stepping on coral or disturbing wildlife, promoting safer and more sustainable experiences.

Exclusive Benefits for Coral College Participants

Tourists who complete the Coral College program and participate in its interactive games can receive exclusive benefits and souvenirs from TAT and partner organizations including Love Andaman, Nikorn Marine, and Andaman Wave Master. This initiative encourages greater participation while supporting local marine tourism businesses.

Expanding to Thailand’s Key Coastal Destinations.

Following its successful pilot in Phuket, Coral College will expand to other popular coastal provinces such as Krabi, Trang, Satun, Chumphon, and Surat Thani. This wider rollout aims to elevate marine tourism standards nationwide, ensuring that Thailand’s stunning ocean environments remain protected for generations to come.
