Newly Reimagined Three-Bedroom Manors at Capella Singapore Showcase Global Design Narrative

Capella Singapore
Capella Singapore, the flagship resort of Capella Hotels and Resorts on Sentosa Island, is thrilled to unveil the redesigned interiors of its Capella Manor and Colonial Manors. These luxurious manors have been meticulously reimagined to offer modern travellers a refined, private retreat with a unique global design narrative.

Located within the serene, lush rainforest of Sentosa Island, these exclusive, standalone manors combine bespoke furnishings, curated artwork, and thoughtfully designed spaces to create an atmosphere of both intimacy and grandeur. The redesigned manors each feature three ensuite bedrooms, expansive living and dining areas, a private terrace, and a pool — perfect for a sophisticated getaway.

Capella Manor: Curated Comfort Meets Contemporary Chic with a Homely Touch

Designed by Melbourne-based interior decorator Simone Haag, Capella Manor exudes a sense of character and refined elegance, blending contemporary chic with Asian-inspired accents. The manor, spanning 576 sqm over two floors, offers spacious living areas, three beautifully appointed ensuite bedrooms with king-size or twin beds, and an outdoor terrace with a private lap pool surrounded by lush tropical foliage.

Haag's design is a carefully curated collection of vintage pieces, custom contemporary furniture, and commissioned artworks sourced from a global network of artists and artisans. This unique blend of styles creates a memorable atmosphere, where each item tells a story and contributes to the manor's distinct personality. A neutral palette, textured fabrics, and sculptural vignettes in materials such as pewter, ceramics, and rare timbers evoke a sense of effortless luxury.

“Capella Singapore represents a constantly evolving design methodology that is deeply contextual, ensuring that each space feels truly individual and memorable,” says Simone Haag.

Colonial Manors: A Tribute to Heritage and History

The transformation of the two Colonial Manors by Matthew Shang Design Office (MSDO) celebrates their storied past as British military quarters from the 1880s, offering a retreat rich in history. Each manor offers 500 sqm of space over two floors, with three ensuite bedrooms, separate living, dining, and study areas, garden views, and a private pool.

MSDO's design blends modern sensibilities with timeless elements, incorporating maps of old Singapore and vintage furnishings that evoke the spirit of a seasoned traveller. Guests are welcomed by lush greenery and an eclectic mix of artefacts, setting the tone for a stay steeped in cultural significance. The heart of the manor features 'The Nest,' a cozy living space designed for intimate gatherings, complete with Persian rugs and tropical prints that add warmth and vibrancy.

The bedrooms feature textured headboards and serene Roman blinds, while the bathrooms combine modern touches with the charm of dark timbre frames and spherical lights. The downstairs dining and living areas offer enduring tranquillity, perfect for relaxing or socialising, while the outdoor dining area, complete with barbecue facilities and plush seating, provides a tranquil setting beside the private pool.

Curated Hospitality, Manor-Style

The redesigned manors offer guests an elevated stay with personalized services from a dedicated Manor Culturist. Bespoke turndown amenities, a fully stocked fridge with champagne, premium wines, refreshments, and in-manor breakfast ensure a luxurious experience from the moment of arrival. Families will also enjoy curated experiences, such as poolside picnics, dim sum masterclasses, and a range of Capella Wellness rituals, including private yoga by the pool and signature moon-phase spa treatments.

Additionally, guests can immerse themselves in Singapore’s rich culture through heritage tours and gastronomic experiences, with Manor Culturists introducing them to the sights, tastes, and sounds of the locale.

Yngvar Stray, General Manager of Capella Singapore, shared, "This redesign reflects our commitment to creating spaces that celebrate heritage while offering guests an environment that feels like a home away from home. With personal touches and timeless designs, we invite guests to enjoy a tranquil, unforgettable retreat."
