New and reopening hotels in Antigua and Barbuda

Curtain Bluff
Antigua and Barbuda are two adjoining Caribbean islands known for their reef-lined beaches, rainforests and resorts. English Harbour in the capital, St. John's, is a yachting hub and the site of historic Nelson's Dockyard.

Curtain Bluff

Curtain Bluff has reopened after closure to enable the hotel's Hulford Collection Suites, Morris & Grace Bay Pool Suites and a selection of Junior Suites completely refurbished. Curtain Bluff has also expanded its adults-only Wellness Area at Curtain Bluff with a standalone Yoga Pavilion among lush Zen gardens and new infinity pool and jacuzzi.

Carlisle Bay 

Carlisle Bay
Carlisle Bay reopens in November 2023 after a major refurbishment. It is located in a natural harbour on the southern coast of Antigua. This area is known for its white sandy beaches and turquoise water and is some 10 miles from St. John's. Historic shipwrecks here make it a prime snorkelling and diving spot. 


Hawksbill Resort 

The Hawksbill Resort has reopened following renovation and is now managed by the Caribbean Beach Cottage Collection, which also has the Cocos Hotel and Keyonna Beach Resort. www.hawksbillresortantigua.com 

The Verandah Antigua 

The Verandah Antigua
The Verandah Antigua reopens in November 2023 as an adults-only hotel, having undergone an extensive renovation with new facilities. These include a new restaurant with a Michelin three-star inspired menu crafted by the resort’s chef; four new pickleball courts and the largest 18-hole mini golf course in the Caribbean. Royalton CHIC Antigua 

Blue Diamond Resorts will open the new adult-only Royalton CHIC Antigua in spring of 2024. The resort, in Dickenson Bay, will feature 235 rooms and suites with beachfront views, seven restaurants, five bars and dining entertainment, sports and fitness facilities and The Royal Spa. www.royaltonresorts.com 

Great House Antigua Opera Week 

3 to 9 June 2024 
Great House Antigua’s first Opera Week will see the historic hotel staging intimate operatic renditions by Miranda Heldt, a German singer and actress who is a regular performer a The Ritz London. The performances will take place in the Georgian drawing room, a sea-facing deck and across the expansive 26-acre grounds.
