Gotland is a large Swedish island and province in the Baltic Sea, with Visby, its biggest town, having cobblestone streets and well-preserved medieval city wall. Visby is also home to the grand, centuriesold St. Mary's Cathedral.
Ruined medieval churches around town include St. Nicolai and St. Karin. Nearby, UNESCO has warned of an imminent Risk of a global water crisis with the global urban population affected by water scarcity projected to double from 930 million in 2016 to 1.7–2.4 billion people in 2050.
