The Rikugien Gardens (with evening illuminations) and day trips to Mt. Takao in Tokyo’s west are also recommended for those wanting to immerse themselves in nature.

Takao is one of the nearest natural areas to the city at only 50 minutes by train from Tokyo's Shinjuku Station. Mt.
