Dubai to build the tallest residential building in the world

Dubai is all set to build the world’s largest indoor ski resort with a 1.2-kilometer run and the tallest residential building. This latest announcement also aims to break five world records in terms of architectural brilliance in the world.

Dubai harbors the biggest ski resort in the Mall of the Emirates that opened in 2005, boasting a 400-meter slope. The ski resort runs all the year round, despite scorching temperatures during the summer that expands mercury as high as 45 degree Celsius.

The estimated cost of the new project as per the reports will go up to US$ 9.3 billion. The new covered ski resort comes as part of a scheme dubbed Meydan One, also to include the world’s tallest residential tower at 711 metres, a dancing fountain sweeping up to 420 meters, a vast shopping centre, a 350-room hotel and a marina, according to a government statement.

The promoters revealed that the first phase of the project will be completed in the next five years, during the time when UAE will be hosting the World Expo 2020. The first phase will eventually house up to 78,000 residents.
