The 13th Hoi An – Japan Culture Exchange Program will be held from 28 to 30 August in Hoi An Ancient Town and An Hoi Statue Garden with many anticipating activities, of which the opening ceremony at 19h30 on 29 August 2015.
Hoi An – Japan Culture Exchange Program includes traditional activities which have favorite Japanese trends in Viet Nam such as: Anime and Manga cosplay, Yosakoi dance, Kendo, Kirigami papercraft, Yukata photo taking, Haiku poem display, Hoi An night via telescopes… Besides, this year’s program offers visitors new experiences with exhibition on “12 years of cooperation and exchange of Hoi An and Japan”, exhibition to honor Hoi An with display of its nominations and awards since 1999; displays of Sakai City’s handicraft products, Hoi An-Japan Bonsai; folk games (bai choi singing, pot breaking), Japanese games for children in An Hoi Statue Garden, stick pulling contest, bag jumping contest, Hoi An – Japan boat racing in Hoai River, costume show on Hoi An traditional sewing techniques, art performances in An Hoi Statue Garden Stage, folk performances of Japanese schools, unions and art troupes, rope whipping performance in Chau Thuong Van Street…
In the framework of the event, there are also responding programs such as parades, forums on “An hour for a cleaner Hoi An”, “Hoi An – Tourist city without smoke” with the participation of Hoi An, Janpanese and international volunteers.
After 12 times of organization, Hoi An – Japan Culture Exchange Program has made strong impressionson locals and visitors and contributed to enhancing mutual understanding and building friendship between Hoi An and Japan.
