The website Boredpanda (USA) has published the list of 30 most unique modes of transport in the world, including the cyclo in Viet Nam.
Considered as development from rickshaw – a popular vehicle in Ha Noi and Sai Gon in the 19th century, the cyclo is the type of bike which has 3 wheels, its seat is assembled in the front, driver is in the behind. Some cyclos are added motor, called motor cyclos.
Cyclos are widely used in the big cities such as Ha Noi, Hue, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City. When visiting these cities, tourists often choose cyclos for sightseeing. Particularly, in some Southern provinces as An Giang, Tien Giang..., the seat of cyclos are not assembled in the front but behind, so called tourist pedicabs.
Besides cyclos in Viet Nam, the list of 30 most unique modes of transport in the world also includes reindeer sled (Finland), trams (France), suspension railway (Germany), hydrofoil (Greece), gondola (Italy), toboggan (Portugal), trolley bus (Russia), aerial tramway (Switzerland), underground funicular (Turkey), hovercraft (UK), terra bus (Canada), Zip lines over the canopy (Costa Rica), coco taxi (Cuba), ice angle (USA), dog sleds (Alaska), reed boat (Peru), bamboo train (Cambodia), maglev train (China), Du Bai trolley (United Arab Emirates), house boat (India), Shinkansen bullet train (Japan), elephant (Laos), tangah (Pakistan), Habal Habal (Philippines), Tuk Tuk (Thailand), funicular (Australia), Shotover jet (New Zealand), Matatu bus (Kenya) and Felucca sailboat (Egypt).
