The ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 begins today, with the first game in Sydney just two weeks away. The tournament features 14 teams from across the globe as they fight for the coveted Cricket World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
To celebrate their arrival in Sydney, earlier this week the Ireland side took time out from training to enjoy a Sydney Harbour Bridge climb, taking in the spectacular views of the city, Opera House and Harbour.
New South Wales will play a major part in the staging of the tournament, with the Sydney Cricket Ground hosting three pool matches, beginning with South Africa v West Indies on February 27, Australia v Sri Lanka on 8 March, England v Afghanistan on 13 March, a Quarter Final on 18 March and a Semi Final on 26 March.
Meanwhile the Home Ground Cricket Tour concluded this week, with the final stop taking place in Singleton on Wednesday. All up the tour visited 27 destinations over 73 days, building excitement in regional areas for the Cricket World Cup.
