Broadway Heats Up Winter in New York With New Shows for 2015 - The New Season Brings Salsa, Peter Pan and French Romance to the Great White Way

As one of the key generators for New York City's tourism industry and for Broadway specifically, Australians represent the 5th largest inbound international market.

With several new shows set to debut in 2015 that offer familiar stories to audiences worldwide, that number is expected to grow. They include the re-imagining of two Oscar-winning films; two original comedies and the story of one of music legends and their journey out of Cuba to become US pop icons.

In anticipation of upcoming show openings, Broadway Inbound – a provider to travel agents and wholesalers - announces the addition of six new offerings to their expansive portfolio.

On Your Feet

The story of international superstar Gloria Estefan and her husband, legendary producer-musician-entrepreneur Emilio Estefan, On Your Feet features several of Gloria's GRAMMY® winning hits with the Miami Sound Machine including “Rhythm Is Gonna Get You,” “1-2-3,” “Conga,” along with new music penned by the Estefans Co-written by Alexander Dinelaris, Jr. (Birdman, West End's The Bodyguards, the show brings to live the couple's story of unwavering dedication to each other, their Cuban heritage and their realization of the American Dream. Previews begin on October 5, with an official opening night November 5 at the Marquis Theater.

Doctor Zhivago

Boris Pasternak's Nobel Prize-winning masterpiece turned five time Academy Award-winning film, Doctor Zhivago makes its Broadway debut this spring. The epic celebrates the strength of love and art during the final days of Czarist Russia, World War I and the chaos of revolution with Zhivago as a political idealist, physician and poet, torn between commitment and passion. Previews begin on March 27 at the Broadway Theater with opening night on April 21.

An American in Paris

Set in the aftermath of war, An American in Paris spins the tale of a deployed American soldier's romance with a beautiful French girl. Inspired by another Academy-Award winning film of the same name, this new musical is currently enjoying a run in France at the Théâtre du Châtelet. Previews at the Palace Theatre begin March 13 with an April 12 opening night.

It Shoulda Been You

This new comedy about the complications of modern marriage is directed by American actor and comedian David Hyde Pierce (known to audiences around the world from his role on the TV hit Frasier) making his Broadway directorial debut with The Phantom of the Opera's Sierra Boggess in the lead. Previews begin March 17 with the official opening on April 14 at the Brooks Atkinson Theater.

Something Rotten

This new musical provides a fictional account of the first musical ever conceived. Set in the age of William Shakespeare, the story revolves around two brothers struggling to write something fresh and original for the stage. Upon consulting a local soothsayer, they learn a new era of theater will involve singing, dancing and acting and so set out to pen the world's first musical. Previews begin on March 23 at the St. James Theater with opening night on April 22.

Finding Neverland

MatthewMorrison, best known to audiences around the for his role on Fox's Glee, created the role of playwright J. M. Barrie in workshops for this new musical based on the play The Man Who Was Peter Pan. He will continue in the role as the show moves to the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for previews on March 15 and opening on April 15. Directed by Tony Award®-winner Diane Paulus (Pippin) with UK pop-sensation Gary Barlow writing music and lyrics
