According to the General Statistics Office, international visitors to Viet Nam in August of 2014 estimated 618,588 arrivals, increasing 9.5% over last month. Summing up the first 8 months of this year, the country welcomed 5,471,209 arrivals, increasing 12.2% over the same period last year.
Accordingly, the number of arrivals for all purposes in the first 8 months of 2014 recorded positive growth over the same period last year. The visitors for leisure and tourism estimated 3,302,618 arrivals, up 10.5%; business 919,757 (+12.9%); visiting relatives 941,515 (+15.8%); and other purposes 307,309 (+18.2%).
Most of source markets also positively increased, namely Hong Kong (+97.5%), Germany (+83.3%), Russia (+27.1%), Spain (+24.3%), Laos (+21.5%), Cambodia (+20.1%), England (+17.2%), China (+17.2%)…
The number of domestic trippers in the first 8 months of 2014 estimated 30.1 million trips, up 6.9% over the same period last year. Total tourism receipts reached VND 159,770 billions, up 20.4%.
