City Meets Country As The Best In Australian Music Heads Inland

Taking over the Forbes Showgrounds for the first time this December, VANFEST is set to deliver the biggest party ever seen in Central West NSW, with the first artists - including Sydney's dance icons Bag Raiders and Van She - announced today, to coincide with the Festival’s first release of tickets.

VANFEST has been made possible thanks to a father and his son: Grant Clifton, a Forbes local who owns and runs The Vandenberg Hotel and Matt Clifton, a city dweller who owns and runs Donny's Bar in Manly.

The first VANFEST was held in May earlier this year, taking over Grant's hotel on a spectacular evening, bringing live music and DJs to the region for the first time. It was such a huge success that what started as a one night only event has paved the way for a massive outdoor festival set to be held on Saturday, December 6th.

Matt Clifton says, "There's never been anything like this in Forbes. Dad and I would never have been able to do what we're doing if we hadn't have partnered up with our networks from the city and the country. This is a party for the country; something that we hope will benefit everyone in the region.”

“We'll be delivering an all Australian, extremely diverse line-up, featuring some heavy hitting acts never before seen in regional New South Wales and local talent as well. There should be a little something for everyone, and hopefully room to discover something new along the way." says Clifton.

The first bands announced keep Matt true to his word. VANFEST will bring to the Central West a phenomenal lineup ranging through from indie folk to rock and pop, with a splash of house classics thrown in for good measure.

First up are Sydney party starters Bag Raiders, a house duo well known for their incredible live performances and unmissable remixes. Forged in the fires of the Sydney house scene, signed to Modular (Cut Copy, The Presets) and attributing Bill Murray as one of their biggest influences, the Bag Raiders have an emphasis on fun that will be sure to thrill audiences this December.

Next up is another iconic Sydney outfit off the Modular label, with an emphasis on music that will keep you dancing. Trio Van She will ensure everyone who comes to the festival parties well into the night off the back of their hit singles "Sex City", "Strangers", "Kelly", "Idea of Happiness" and "Jamaica" - not to mention their killer remixes.

With dozens more acts to be announced, including some big ticket items, the announcements for VANFEST are just getting ramped up. Whether you’re a local, a cityslicker looking for a weekend away, or a fellow Central West dweller looking for a way to catch the best from the city, without having to travel the distance, VANFEST is sure to have something for you.

The all-day event - running from 2.30pm until 11.30pm - will feature all the trimmings you would expect to see on the big city stages.

With VIP tents, wet bars, meet and greets, preferred parking and more, VANFEST will support the local community and bring everyone along to raise their hands for a hell of a party.

First release tickets are on sale now for just $80 and can be purchased from www.vanfest.com.au
