Russia-China Celebrate as Tourism Alliance Yields Fruitful Year

In the first nine months of 2013, the number of tourists traveling between China and Russia reached 2,370,000 with China the second biggest country by number of travelers to Russia and Russia the third largest traveler source for China.

Chinese Vice Premier Wang Yang attended the closing ceremony of the “China Tourism Year” in Russia after alliance between the two giant neighbors issued in a fruitful year of mutual tourism. The tourism program is seen as a significant part of the inclusive strategic cooperative partnership between Russia and China.

Almost 400 events have been held in the two countries celebrating the year. The “China-Russia Tourism Year” program, which began last year with the “Russia Tourism Year” in China, aspire to promote tourism ties and humanistic exchanges between the two countries.
