In commemoration of World Tourism Day, organised by the United Nations World Tourism Organisation and held annually on 27 September, H.E. the Minister of Tourism of Egypt Mr. Hisham Zaazou honoured a group of travel and hospitality service providers who have made considerable contributions to the local tourism industry in Egypt.
The ceremony was held Monday, 30 September 2013 at the Cairo International Conference Centre and was attended by travel agents, hotel representatives and leaders of the tourism and hospitality industries, as well as the President of the Egyptian Tourism Federation.
Dusit Thani LakeView Cairo was honoured by the Minister for being the Best 5-Star Hotel in Greater Cairo in implementing the new standards set forth by the Ministry, as well as for offering the highest quality service to hotel guests. With over one billion people traveling the world every year, the goals of World Tourism Day is to foster awareness among the international community of the importance of tourism and its social, cultural, political and economic value and to highlight the contributions the tourism sector can make in reaching this goal.
