Aviation fans and aerial enthusiasts are invited to head for the Warbirds Downunder Air show, held on Saturday 2 November at the Temora Aviation Museum in the picturesque NSW town of Temora, north-east of the Riverina.
"The Warbirds Downunder Air show is a world-class event that has really put the Temora Shire on the map. I invite aviation enthusiasts from all corners of the globe to the Temora Shire to witness this spectacular event,” Member for Murrumbidgee, Adrian Piccoli said.
“Last year, 9,306 visitors attended the Warbirds Downunder Air show with 8,276 of these from outside of the region, staying on average three nights and contributing almost $3 million to the local economy.”
The highly successful inaugural Warbirds Downunder Air show occurred in 2011 and this year’s event promises to be even bigger and better with an impressive program of aerial acrobatics, demonstrations, vintage car and military vehicle displays.
There will be plenty of aerial action for visitors to enjoy with most of the Museum's aircraft collection taking to the skies as well as a host of visiting aircraft.
Minister for Tourism and Major Events, George Souris said: “The NSW Government is pleased to support regional events such as the Warbirds Downunder Air show as part of the 2013 Regional Flagship Events Program.”
CEO of Destination NSW, the NSW Government’s major events and tourism agency, Sandra Chipchase said: “This is an exciting event for all of the family.
“Visitors should also make time to explore the wonderful Riverina region, which abounds with stunning scenery, gourmet food and wine, historic landmarks and museums, arts and crafts, adventure and sports and of course, legendary country hospitality.”
