Registration is open for the free event – The Green Visitor Economy: Sustainability through innovation and strategic partnerships to be held on Tuesday 13 August at the Bayside Gallery, Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The event is being sponsored by the US Studies Centre at Sydney University as part of a project funded by NSW Trade and Investment.
The conference will feature international speaker Mr David Gottfried and a panel of Australian experts in innovation and sustainability, the visitor economy, and global labelling and certification.
Mr Gottfried is Chief Executive Officer of Regenerative Ventures and Network, and founder of the US Green Building Council and World Green Building Council.
The focus of the panel will be on conversation centred on:
• Sustainability-based consumer motivations and consumer psychology to support businesses identify the green strategies which may engage the Green Visitor Economy.
• The status of sustainability accreditation in a travel and tourism context, the global use of labelling and standards and what is happening both here and abroad in this area.
• The relationship between pursuing ‘green’ and whole-of-business innovation, including supply chain transformation and design innovation.
