THAI Celebrates Her Majesty the Queen’s Birthday with Special Dishes

Thai Airways is celebrating Her Majesty the Queen’s Birthday and Mother’s Day by serving specially designed meals for passengers flying THAI in all classes departing from Bangkok.

Mr. Danuj Bunnag, THAI Executive Vice President, Products & Customer Services, said that THAI is celebrating Her Majesty Queen Sirikit’s Birthday and Mother’s Day on 12 August 2013 by serving specially designed meals by Chef Nooror Somany-Steppé, of the Blue Elephant Restaurant, on all domestic and international flights departing from Bangkok. THAI created the special dishes from the finest raw materials from Her Majesty the Queen’s Royal projects such as Sangyod Rice from Pattalung. Sangyod Rice is a brown rice that is rich in nutrients, protein vitamins, and minerals.

The following special meals, with the exception of breakfast menu, will be served on international flights departing from Bangkok during 11-13 August 2013.

Royal First Class passengers will be served Roll Romaine Lettuce with Japanese Cucumber, Tiger Prawn, Chicken, and Deep-fried Sea Bass with Herb Sauce and Sangyod Rice Wrapped with Lotus Leaves. Avocado Pudding and Panna Cotta, Mango and Passion Fruit Cake will be served for dessert.

Royal Silk Class passengers will be served Coral Romaine with Japanese Cucumber, Prawn, Chicken, and Deep-fried Sea Bass with Herb Sauce with Stir-fried Sangyod Rice. Avocado Pudding will be served for dessert.

Economy Class passengers will be served Radicchio and Iceberg with Japanese Cucumber, Shrimp, Chicken, and Deep-fried Sea Bass with Herb Sauce, Stir-fried Wild Rice and Hom Mali Rice. Avocado Pudding will be served for dessert.

Passengers flying THAI domestic flights during 11 – 13 August 2013 will be served the following menu with Germinated Brown Rice and original brown rice.

Royal Silk Class passengers departing from Bangkok will be served Chicken with Tumeric Sauce and Brown Rice. Blue diamond layer cake will be served for dessert. Royal Silk Class passengers arriving in Bangkok will be served Coconut Milk Jelly in the shape of a heart.

Economy Class passengers departing from Bangkok will be served Germinated Brown Rice Takoh; a Thai pudding made from Germinated Brown Rice with coconut topping. Economy Class passengers arriving in Bangkok will be served Mother’s Day Cupcake.
