CENTRAL NSW A MUST-DO ADVENTURE FOR EVERY AUSTRALIAN

Central NSW is the new frontier of tourism experiences in Australia with a campaign launched to help people self-discover the region, which features a staggering 1130 natural and culturally significant sites.

At the touch of a button, travellers can now access free Discovery Trails, which link tourism attractions across 11 council boundaries with great travel deals.

Launched by Central NSW Tourism, the trails are part of the ‘While you’re here’ campaign; the first step in establishing this historic and beautiful inland area as a must-do adventure for every Australian.

After months of research and development six new Discovery Trails offer themed holiday planners under the titles ‘Gold’, ‘Art’, ‘Nature’, ‘Country Folk’, ‘Technology’ and ‘Food, Wine and Tastes’. They contain varying routes from half-day to seven-day adventures with maps, places to stay, events, interesting facts and booking information.

New tourism attractions en-route include a tour of the 385-hectare solar and wind-powered Ochre Arch Farm 25km north of Grenfell and new accommodation at number eight self-contained house in Grenfell, Buddens Guesthouse in Rockley, and the Hotel Gracelands in Parkes, just to name a few.

This is the first time Central NSW has offered travel information and themed trails linking major tourism hubs such as Bathurst, Orange, Cowra, Condoblin, Parkes and Mudgee, as well as smaller, historic villages.

Executive Officer of Central NSW Tourism, Lucy White, said, “The Discovery Trails give independent travellers confidence to hit the road and explore Central NSW. The area offers unforgettable journeys though historic mining villages, over rich agricultural river flats, along old travelling stock reserves and through untouched National Parks.”

“Enjoying local food is a big part of daily life in Central NSW, therefore each Trail features a variety of ‘100-mile diet’ stops suggestions with award-winning producers, winemakers, restaurants, cafes, farmers markets and foodie events along the way,” said Ms White.

‘Discovery Trails travel deals’ include:
  • “Three nights for two at Evanslea Mudgee” – pay $675 for three nights and pay for two mid-week in a five-star cottage for two people, it includes dinner for two at Sajos restaurant and a private tasting at Huntington Estate with discounted wine package
