Australia's Iconic Town Celebrates as Tiger Roars Back into The Alice

Alice Springs

Tiger Airways has announced four weekly return services to Alice Springs from Melbourne and Sydney, commencing 9th April 2013, once again opening up Australia's iconic Red Centre to low cost carrier passengers.

Tiger Airways Australia Commercial Director, Carly Brear, says the news is exciting for the consumer, local economies and the airline.  "I am particularly thrilled to tell the people of Alice Springs we have listened. We've been inundated with requests for Tiger's low cost flights to serve Central Australia, a community that currently lacks low cost options and critically, is so heavily reliant on tourism."

Alice Springs Airport has worked closely with Tourism Minister Matt Conlan and Tourism CEO Tony Mayell in recent months to ensure a collaborative approach to securing additional capacity to Alice Springs.

Tiger Airways' new services to Alice Springs are conveniently timed to suit leisure, business and conference travellers as well as the local community. Sydney flights depart at 6:40am, arriving in Alice Springs at 10:00am and Melbourne
flights depart at 9:00am, arriving in Alice Springs at 12:20pm.

The two new routes from Melbourne and Sydney represent an additional 150,000 seats to the Alice Springs market.
