The new versions (m.sydney.com and m.visitnsw.com) have been fully optimised for smartphone devices such as iPhone, Android, Blackberry and Windows. They utilise the information from the full websites and display it in a mobile-friendly format that reflects our current marketing activities for Sydney and regional NSW.
Menu items are clearly displayed with the headings Destinations, Things to do, Accommodation, Events and Deals. Social networking links are featured to allow users to share information.
Around 25 per cent of visitors to our websites are accessing them from a mobile device and 33 per cent of clicks delivered from search engine marketing are coming from mobile devices. Internet marketing research company Comscore, recently reported that 51 per cent of smartphone owners accessed travel related products, services and other related content on their mobile in the three months to February 2012. One in five people made a hotel or airline ticket booking on their mobile device over the same period.
