The A350 has already made a strong impression within the Emirates fleet, with 13 aircraft delivered to date. Its fuel-efficient performance, advanced cabin features and global range make it a key player in Emirates’ future expansion plans.
A Strategic Investment in Global Growth
This latest order forms part of a broader fleet renewal strategy unveiled at the Dubai Airshow. Combined with Emirates’ earlier announcement of 65 additional Boeing 777-9 aircraft, the airline’s total investment at the event has soared to US$ 41.4 billion at list prices. It marks one of the largest airshow commitments in recent years, reflecting Emirates’ confidence in the long-term growth of international travel. The newly ordered Airbus A350-900s are scheduled for delivery in 2031, ensuring a steady pipeline of next-generation aircraft to support expanding routes, increased frequencies and enhanced passenger options.
Enhancing the Passenger Experience
Since entering service last November, the A350 has enabled Emirates to introduce its latest cabin innovations to even more travellers. The aircraft features the airline’s much-loved Premium Economy class, alongside enhanced comfort, modern design and advanced technology that supports a quieter, more efficient journey.HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group, highlighted the importance of the acquisition, praising the A350’s contribution to additional capacity and improved customer offerings. He reaffirmed that Emirates’ growing wide-body fleet will unlock even greater global connectivity in the coming decade.
Partnering for a Sustainable and Connected Future
The announcement reinforces the long-standing relationship between Emirates, Airbus and engine manufacturer Rolls-Royce. Powered by the Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-84 engines, the A350-900 offers strong fuel efficiency and durability, supporting more sustainable operations across long-haul sectors.Industry leaders from Airbus and Rolls-Royce expressed their satisfaction at Emirates’ renewed confidence in the A350 program, noting the aircraft’s reputation for reliability and environmental performance.
